3 day 2 night North Texas Stand Hog Hunt

North Texas Hog and Pig Stand Hunts will take place just minutes south of Dallas in Waxahachie, Tx. Our 900 acres ranch is set up and managed specifically for Stand over Feeder Hog hunts.

Night hunts with Thermal gear also available!

Cost is $750/person for 3 day 2 night package with a minimum of 4 hunters or $3,000 for up to 4 hunters with no kill fee, no limits on pigs, and no required cleaning fees. Lodging is included.

What to Bring

Gun- Feel free to bring any firearm or bow you’d like to use for the hunt. If you plan to bow/shotgun please notify us prior to the hunt. Gun/Bow mounted red/green lights is suggested for hunting after dark.

Caliber- You are welcome to use the caliber of your choice.  Please no rim fire.  .30 Caliber or larger is recommended.

Proper attire– Hunter wear may consist of camouflage or earth tone apparel.  Prevent wearing bright or white clothing, avoid fabric that is abrasive or noisy when walking or stalking.  Be sure to check weather forecast in Waxahachie, Tx and for the weather.

Scent Control-Hogs have an excellent sense of smell.  Please wash your clothes and yourself with scent blocker detergent.  As well as during summer months use scent free bug spray or Thermacell to control mosquitos or flies while hunting.

Waterproof shoes– You may need waterproof boots, or rubber boots for your hunt. Please be in touch if your group does not have these items, so that we can accommodate.

Hunting License– It is no longer required to have a hunting license to harvest hogs on private property in Texas.  However, you are still required to have completed a hunter safety certification course either in Texas or your home state.   Additionally, if you wish to harvest any varmints or predators during your pig hunt you will be required to have a Texas hunting license prior to doing so.  You may purchase a 5 day non-resident license from TPWD or any local sporting goods store.

Accommodations-  Lodging and accommodations are included.  You will have the availability to come and go from the lodge to the hunting area as you wish during the duration of your hunt.  Lodge has a full kitchen, fridge, grill, cooking utensils and firepit.

Taxidermy and Processing Recommendations-   We have a cleaning station provided for you to use free of charge.  We try to keep sharp knives, clippers, and saws available for use but they grow legs and walk off from time to time.  We suggest bring your own set of cleaning knives.  Chest Freezer on back deck available for storing and freezing meat prior to your departure.  Guides will skin and quarter hog for  $100/pig (guides may not be available to skin and quarter hogs at the time of your harvest depending on the time of night).

Summary

Our stand hunts are self-guided hunts with lodging that take place at our Waxahachie, TX location.  Your party will check between 12pm and 4pm the first day of your hunt.  Based on travel times if you need an early check-in please let your guide know in advance. Check out is 12pm the final day of your hunt.

Upon arrival your guide will give you a tour of the ranch and show you all the stands and feeders. We do the scouting and check all the cameras before your arrival. Your guide will advise you on which stands have had recent pig activity and what times the pigs are moving.  Stands include box blinds, ladder stands, pop-up blinds and quad pod stands. If you have any limitation or special requests or preferred weapon for hunting other than a rifle, please let us know prior to arriving so that we may prepare accordingly.  You will be responsible for entering and exiting hunting area on your own after initial tour.  Once your guide has shown you the property you can begin hunting.  Pigs are primarily nocturnal so for best results be prepared to hunt throughout the night, however you may hunt at any time during your stay. All our feeders are equipped with motion sensor lights so that you may hunt after dark with traditional optics.   These lights are solar powered.  We maintain and test lights regularly, however with Texas harsh weather conditions the technology remains unreliable.  With overcast days and high activity after dark on a feeder for several days can drain the solar batteries and lights can become dim.  With that said we strongly suggest rifle mounted green or red lights for assurance.
